When Is The Best Time To Stretch?

You may see internet sites promoting 'miracle' or 'never before seen' stretches. In fact there are only so many muscles you can stretch and only so many ways to stretch them. I only ever show you the ways to stretch that numerous studies and research data have shown to be the most effective.

Now, here's a little insight that may surprise you: knowing when to stretch is much more important than knowing what or how to stretch. Stretching is designed to relax muscles and improve their flexibility.

If you stretch just before you go to bed, the muscle relaxes more quickly and remains relaxed for longer. Research has shown that if you use a muscle after you stretch the value of the stretch decreases quickly. You need to stretch, then rest.

If you also stretch during the day, muscles can relax 10 times more quickly.
