A Note From the Back Pain Advisor

Dear ,

One of the questions I am asked almost every day is this:

'Can stress affect my back pain?'

The answer is a resounding yes.

The more stressed you are, the bigger the pain you will experience. Why?

Your adrenal glands are an important organ for dealing with both stress and structural support. If your stress levels increase, the gland is taxed and you lose support to your back.

So you need to help keep your adrenals happy or you're going to experience back pain more often.

If you want to remove your back pain, it is not only your joints and muscles you need to consider. Stress and your general health are also important.

So...be well, stay well and become free of back pain.

Yours in great health

Dr Graeme Teague.

Back Pain & Your Adrenals

By Dr Graeme Teague

If your adrenal glands are depleted you will have more back pain. Why?

Your adrenals help to produce anti-inflammatory products; they improve structural support and help with your physical energy levels. If they are run down, it becomes easier for back pain to happen.

To stimulate your adrenals there are two things you can do quickly.

Eat more salt. You actually need between and teaspoon of salt each day for your adrenals to work well.

Secondly, hold onto your elbow crease (the fleshy bend of your elbow -not the bony point). This is an Acupressure point which stimulates your adrenals.

Just hold both points (crossing your arms) - don't rub or press hard - for a few minutes or more. Once a day is enough, but you can do it more often if you wish.

The point has a three-inch effective radius, so you don't need to worry about missing the point.

Just like jumper cabling a battery, holding the point kicks the adrenals back into action - and back pain eases.
